The Assam Government conferred its highest civilian award to 19 persons on 24th January 2021. The Assam State Civilian Awards 2021 was given to persons from diverse fields starting from Ratan Tata to an ASHA worker.
The Assam State Civilian Award is conferred in 3 categories- Assam Vaibhav, Assam Saurav and Assam Gaurav. Ratan Tata was given Assam Vaibhav for 2021. 5 Persons were given Assam Sourav 2022 and 13 people were given Assam Gaurav 2021.

ASSAM STATE CIVILIAN AWARDS
This highest civilian award of Assam is proposed to be given every year on 2nd December i.e on Asom Divas. But for the year 2021, this award was given on 24th January 2022.
Most of the individuals are from grassroot level. They were selected through a citizen-centric process for their distinguished service to society.
All the categories of the Assam State Civilian Award 2001 were given on 24th January 2022 in Shrimanata Sankardev Kalakshetra, Guwahati. Hon’ble Governor of Assam Prof Jagdish Mukhi and Hon’ble Chief Minister of Assam Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma gave the awards.

Assam Gaurav is the 3rd category of highest Assam State Civilian Award. 2021 is the starting year of giving Assam Gaurav Award
What is given in the Assam Gaurav Award?
In the Assam Gaurav Award, 3 things are given to the awardee. A cash price of ₹ 3 lakhs is given. Along with it a certificate of recognition and a medal are also given. Some other benefits like free medical expenses for critical illness, free ASTC buses fare, etc

Assam State Civil Award 2022 will be given in the first month of 2023 at Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra, Guwahati.

SMTI NAYANMONI SAIKIA
Smti Nayanmoni Saikia is an International Lawn Bowl Player. She represented India in 3 Commonwealth games. She won a gold medal in the 2022 Commonwealth game.
She also won a gold medal in Asian Lawn Bowls Champions in 2017 and a bronze in 2018. Smti Nayanmoni Saikia was also honored with Arjuna Award in 2022

ASSAM BAIBAV AWARD 2021
Ratan Naval Tata was conferred with the Assam Baibhav Award 2021. It is the highest civilian award from Assam. He got this award for his extraordinary contributions to advance cancer care in Assam.
ASSAM SAURAV AWARD 2021

Contribution of Awardees of Assam Saurav Award 2021
I will briefly discuss the contribution of all the awardees of the Assam Saurav Award 2021.
Neel Pawan Baruah
Neel Pawan Baruah was conferred Assam Saurav Award for his contribution in reviving the art of Brindabanivastra. Brindabanivastra is a famous textile painting associated with Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardev.
Neel Pawan Baruah also set up Assam Fine Arts & Craft Society at Guwahati in 1971. It was a crucial institution in reviving the art of Brindabanivastra already mentioned above.
Prof Dipak Chand Jain
Dipak Chand Jain is President & Professor at China Europe International Business School and on the board of 7 other companies. He hails from the Tezpur district of Assam and alumni of Gauhati University.
Dipak Chand Jain was the former Director (Dean) of Sasin Graduate Institute of Business Administration of Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand and INSEAD Chaired Professor of Marketing.
Lovlina Borgohain
Lovlina Borgohain needs no introduction in Assam. She became the first individual Olympic medal winner from Assam in the Olympics 2020. For this purpose, she was conferred Assam Saurav Award 2021.
Dr. Kamalendu Deb Krori
Dr. Kamalendu Deb Krori is an eminent physicist and former Principal of Cotton College (1987-1991). He is also the founder-director of Srimanta Sankar Academy and a member of the York Academy of Science.
Dr. Kamalendu Deb Krori has made an immense contribution to education in Assam. For this purpose, he was conferred Assam Award 2021.
Dr. Lakshmanan S
Dr. Lakshmanan S is a well-known bureaucrat of Assam. He is the Mission Director of NHM, Assam.
Assam Saurav Award 2021 was conferred to Dr. Lakshmanan S for his pivotal role in the management of COVID-19 in Assam as a Mission Director of NHM.

Aksah Jyoti Gogoi
Aksah Jyoti Gogoi got the Assam Gaurav Award 2021 for his agro-business company which deals in the production of famous “Bahubali” eggs. His company name is East Agro Product & Services which produces 50,000 eggs per day.
Dr. Asif Iqbal
Dr. Asif Iqbal is a well-known Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) Expert. Assam Gaurav Award for 2021 was given for his recognition of conducting a number of successful Bone Marrow or Stem Cell transplant surgery.
Barmita Momin
As an ASHA worker, Barmita Momin played a vital role in the vaccination drive in her village. She was successful in removing superstitious belief in forest dwellers of Phuloguri Garo Gaon of Sonitpur regarding COVID Vaccine. This way she was able to get the whole village vaccinated. For, this contribution Barmita Momin got Assam Gaurav Award 2021.
Dr. Basanta Hazarika
Dr. Basanta Hazarika was awarded Assam Gaurav Award 2021 for efficiently managing 3000+ critical COVID patients. He was also involved in the preparation of treatment guidelines and conducting training on COVID Management for doctors and paramedics.
Boby Hazarika
Boby Hazarika is a women entrepreneur who started a food delivery service in Tinsukia Town. She is an inspiration to all the women in Assam.
Bobby Hazarika is a role model for Women’s Empowerment in Assam and all over India. For this purpose, she was given Assam Gaurav Award 2021.
Dharanidhar Boro
Dharanidhar Boro was conferred Assam Gaurav Award 2021 for his key role in preventing poaching at Kaziranga and Manas National Park.
Hemoprabha Chutia
Hemoprabha Chutia was awarded Assam Gaurav Award 2021 for her contribution to weaving. She weaved the Assamese version of Gunamala & Namghosha on cloth. She also weaved many religious scriptures in cloth.
Kalpana Boro
Kalpana Boro was conferred Assam Gaurav Award for her great performance in providing Supplementary Nutrition and regular monitoring of children with Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM).
Kaushik Boruah
Kaushik Boruah is the CEO and Co-founder of Kiega Exims Pvt. Ltd. It is a company that deals with supplying and exporting agricultural products of Assam to foreign countries.
He was awarded Assam Gaurav Award 2021 for his contribution to the entrepreneurship of his exporting business.
Khorsing Terang
Khorsing Terang is a mountaineer from Karbi Anglong District of Assam. He was awarded Assam Gaurav Award 2021 for climbing Mount Everest in 2016. He also scaled several peaks and mountains in the Himalayan region.
Manoj Kr Bosumatary
Manoj Kr Bosumatary was given Assam Gaurav Award 2021 for his contribution in the field of Pig Farming. He was instrumental in creating the “Pink Revolution” in Assam.
Munindra Nath Ngatey
Munindra Nath Ngatey was awarded Assam Gaurav Award for the pivotal role he played in the management of the COVID-19 vaccination drive in Assam.
Namita Kalita
Namita Kalita got the Assam Gaurav Award 2021 for administering the highest number of COVID vaccination. She vaccinated 99,822 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.
Conclusion
Assam State Civilian Award will serve as an inspiration to the entire society. Their work will bring hope of inspiration to others to the cause of building Assam.
